Does Marketing Keep You Up at Night? You’re Not Alone!
By: Elaine Fogel
It’s official. If you’re worried about marketing your business or nonprofit, you’re among friends.
A new Adobe study highlights the anxiety many of us experience when it comes to marketing. The results can either make you feel better… or worse!
According to the data, here are some interesting statistics:
- Just one in three marketers thinks his/her company is highly proficient in digital marketing with only 40% thinking the company’s marketing is effective.
- Only two out of five marketers think their colleagues and peers are highly proficient in digital marketing.
- Only 48% of digital marketers and 37% of marketing generalists feel highly proficient in digital marketing.
- 61% of all marketers think that, for most companies, digital marketing approaches are a constant cycle of trial and error.
- The issues of the greatest concern for marketers are: reaching their customers (82%), understanding whether their campaigns are working (79%), followed closely by proving campaign effectiveness (77%) and demonstrating marketing return on investment (75%).
- Only 44% say their marketing departments have a great deal of influence over their organization’s overall business strategy. (Ouch!)
Do any of these keep you up at night? Got any more to add?
