Using Mobile Marketing to Promote Your Small Business

There’s no doubt that mobile marketing is one of the easiest and best ways to gain customers for your small business. People who carry smartphones and use tablets hardly ever put them down! As a small business owner, it’s wise to work up a thorough mobile marketing campaign. Luckily, mobile marketing doesn’t have to be hard, and it can be a huge boon to your sales and brand recognition.

There are many different ways to capitalize on sales with mobile marketing strategies. Here are a few that you can try out for your small business:

Utilize social media. Encourage your customers to follow you on all of the social media networks that you are a part of. You can also offer incentives for doing so. For example, you can offer a special discount or promotion for people who acknowledge your brand on social media. Also consider joining other social networks besides just the major ones like Twitter and Facebook.

Use QR codes. Not everyone is familiar with QR codes, but they are an interesting and easy way to get information to your customers. QR codes can take customers to your website or to a special landing page. You can also have customers scan a QR code in order to join your email list.

Join mobile ‘directories.’ I use the term directory loosely. Joining websites like TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Urbanspoon can help more people to see your business. All of these sites offer users the capability of writing reviews, making recommendations, and giving star ratings to companies. Having a presence on these sites and directing your current customers to them can help more people to find you.

Use your phone to keep in touch. You may be saying well, yeah, that’s what phones are for. I don’t just mean using your phone to call or text customers. Use your smartphone to keep your social media pages updated and send emails about your business while you are on the go. This makes your customers feel like they are in the loop.

It’s very important to use mobile marketing to your advantage. Not having your business optimized for a mobile atmosphere could be detrimental to your sales if you’re not careful!
