10 Reasons You Have to Use Animated Videos
By: Louise Harris
Content is king, but video content is the overlord of the world. If you are marketing your business without using video, you are missing a large number of people who might just want to know about you and buy from you. YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google. If you want people to find you, market your products using video. Better yet, make the video a cartoon. Here are some reasons why animated videos are going to help you.
- Everyone likes watching videos. Your customers are watching YouTube. More than half the world’s population (4 billion people) are tuning into YouTube daily. Of those, 78 percent watch weekly, and 55 percent watch daily.
- Your competitors use them. If you don’t use videos, you can bet your competition is. That’s probably the reason they are being found, and you aren’t. About 80 percent of marketers are using video content in their campaigns, an increase of 10 percent from 2011.
- Search for videos. As mentioned previously, YouTube is the second largest search engine. That means people are looking for video content. Videos also are searchable, meaning they show up in 70 percent of organic searches. Consumers are searching for your products. When you post your video on a social medium, you double your searchability.
- People share videos. It should be no surprise that people love to share videos they find on social media platforms. If you post a video, and your customers like it, they might repost on their social media sites. This increases your exposure and searchability considerably. More than 500 years’ worth of YouTube videos are watched daily on Facebook. At the same time, more than 700 YouTube videos are shared on Twitter every minute. Sharing video content is connected to social media in a big way. Social media are part of our daily lives.
- Videos help small businesses. Because any size company can create and share a video inexpensively, they allow small companies to compete against the mammoths. Although brand awareness and loyalty remains a factor, smaller companies are making in-roads into the advertising game. To fight the big budgets of big corporations, you can crank out more creative web presence and funny products. The more you produce, the more likely yours will be searched and found. You also want to be smart about whom you need to target. Go after the larger fish in the smaller pond to be successful.
- Use them to educate, entertain and inspire. Everyone knows that people want entertainment. The entertainment factor is one reason why videos are searched and shared so much. They also are helpful in educating people about products or services that might be difficult to explain in words. Some will inspire others to act or to be loyal to you. For example, if your employees accomplished something great, a video might tell others who want to try something similar.
- You get immediate reactions. After watching a video, your customers will leave comments about what they saw. This will help you in a number of ways. If you find out you have a flaw in your product, you can change it to improve it. If you find out your video was not high quality, you can fix it. Whatever the comments, you can use them to your advantage.
- You can measure videos. Because you can analyze anything, you can use numbers to assess your videos. You can learn how successful your business or brand videos are. This will save you money by yanking a campaign before it gets too involved. You can choose the ones that work to increase sales.
- Videos are cost-effective. Because they live on the Internet forever, videos are a cost-effective marketing tool over the long haul. Although you might not want the bad videos to stay, you still benefit from them to make you searchable. And, television ads are removed after a certain time, your video content stays online, continuously marketing you.
- Add a button to buy. Videos are most effective when you include a buy now button because viewers are more likely to make an impulse selection after watching a video of a product. About 44 percent of viewers click on the button after seeing the video.
When you animate your video, you can get your message across to the consumer in a more entertaining or helpful way.
