Thinking about selling your products in other countries? Now is more the time than ever. Nowadays it’s relatively easy to sell products all over the world. Why? Because of the fast paced society we live in. Whatever sector you’re looking at, if you compare it to 10-15 years ago we’ve come a long way.

The extremely fast developments in technology have made it possible for us to instantly communicate with people all over the world, no matter what continent you’re on. Here’s why it has become so easy to sell your products in other countries and how you can participate in this fast-growing trend.

Technology is accessible to almost everyone

In the past few years, we have developed at a pace that has never seen before. Developments in technology have made it possible for us to easily communicate with people who are on the other side of the world. Also, it’s almost accessible for everyone. You don’t have to be extremely rich to buy a phone or computer, whereas if you look back 30 years, only the ‘rich and famous’ had access to these luxuries.

We develop faster now, more than ever

Another sector where we’ve seen a lot of progress is in transportation. Airplanes, trains, trucks, cars, boats–all of these have seen an enormous transformation. For example, in the past it would take days or even weeks to send a package from Europe to America. Now it only takes a few days max (depending on your choice of transportation, of course). We can only imagine what we’re going to experience in the upcoming 10-15 years in regards to developments in transportation technology.

These fast developments of internet and transportation, or technology in general, has made it very easy for companies to do business with people in other countries. This is also thanks to Google. As a search engine, Google is used more than 90% worldwide. This means that when someone needs a product or service, or is experiencing a problem which needs a solution, they use Google to find it.

Add trade agreements between countries and continents to the equation and you have yourself a formula for companies to do business with people and other companies anywhere in the world.

Buy products all over the world

Especially for companies that sell products, it’s very easy to do so. Hire a professional translation agency, invest in search engine (Google) optimization for the specific country, and let Google do the work for you. As we said above, when people look for a product or solution for their problem they will most likely use Google to find it.

Let’s say you’re a company based in Spain and you want to sell your products in Germany. You’ve done your research and you have come to the conclusion that there’s a big market for your products. If you want to be successful, there are a few steps you have to follow:

  1. Do research on German/Spanish laws in relation to the products you want to ship to Germany. For some products, some type of documents are needed to transport from one country to another.
  2. Find a German translation agency that can translate the text on your website from Spanish to German. By using a translation agency, you’re ensured of the highest possible quality and you’ll have an optimized website for German people.
  3. Find out which payment services people in Germany favour the most and implement these into your website.
  4. Find a courier that can transport your products for a fairly good price.
  5. Make sure your customer service is ready for any questions and problems regarding your products (in German)

And you’re set to go. Make sure the people in Germany can find you through Google and let the technology to do work for you. The possibilities for your company and doing business abroad are limitless. When are you going to take the next step?
