Why You Should Start Selling on Amazon—Right Now

These days, it seems you can’t turn on a TV, go on the Internet or talk to a friend without hearing something about Amazon. From vitamins to housewares to clothing, people buy EVERYTHING from Amazon. With the Amazon Prime program, people order free movies and books. Even children are getting a slice of the Amazon action through their children’s reading programs and videos.

Have you bought anything from Amazon lately? I’m sure you have. With so many folks turning to Amazon to buy almost everything, there has to be someone on the other end of that transaction, doesn’t there? You could very easily be that person! It’s very easy to start selling through Amazon.

Get Started Selling on Amazon

I’m an experienced multi-channel eCommerce seller, and I have been selling on Amazon for years. Unlike my feelings about some channels, I would recommend selling through Amazon to almost everyone. It may seem difficult to sell online, and with most of the other companies, it is. Amazon is different than the others in that all you have to do is purchase inventory, label it and ship it in to their warehouse, and you’re done. They take care of the ordering process and shipping the item to the customer, as well as providing customer service. What is there to lose? Nothing!

To begin selling on Amazon, you simply go to the Amazon Seller Central homepage and click the link that says, “Register Now.” It’s free to open up a seller account and they will provide you with all the info you need to begin selling. Then, begins the fun part! I prefer to do my inventory shopping on the clearance aisles. You can download an Amazon price check app on your smartphone and you simply scan the items to see how much they sell for on the site. Once you find an item that will sell for at least three times what you need to pay for it, you just buy it and then sell it through the Amazon site. How easy is that?

Amazon Has the Seller’s Back

Now that you know how very easy it is to sell through the site, the only other thing you need to know is how amazing their customer service is. Whether you are dealing with them as a customer or as a seller, Amazon has the top rated customer service in the industry. I’ve dealt with them for several different issues, ranging from having to access my account in a different location to needing to change inventory items or have them shipped back to me, and every single time, they have resolved my issue within a few hours. Try them yourself and you will be amazed!

I glowingly endorse Amazon, but you may still have questions about getting started. Feel free to ask your questions in the comments and I’ll either answer them or point you to someone who can. Happy selling!
