4 Upper Management Professionals Who Can Infuse Your Business with Talent

When developing the upper management team that will focus and coordinate operations in the best interests of the business, it’s prudent to seek out professionals who have a broad set of talents of value for multiple aspects of the business. Here are four types of professionals you should have on board.

Human Resources

A director of human resources plays a vital role. They must plan and coordinate administrative functions that manage your business’s most important asset—its staff. HR managers control recruitment, interviews, hiring, pay, and benefits of new employees at every level, consult with other top executives on business strategy and future planning, and all the while provide the link between upper management and all of the company’s employees. Well-qualified HR managers are expected to see a 9% growth in job opportunities.

Supply Chain Expert

Supply chain management is important to a sustainable workflow and for driving growth. Supply chain management is also called logistics, or coordination of the flow of goods, which relates to raw materials and supplies as well as finished products. The whole process may involve many other business functions, such as purchasing, warehouse management, fulfillment, shipping, vendor networks, and more. As a top executive, a supply chain manager keeps all these things working together in order to optimize time and costs.

Project Managers

PMs are able to take charge of installations, expansions, or development projects to ensure that they are completed correctly and on time. Qualified project managers can integrate business procedures, technology, and resources, schedule accurate timelines and cost projections, and coordinate efforts while exercising management and leadership skills. Various industries may have specific requirements, but a professional who has earned an online project management degree has learned these various skills and is very in demand.

Chief Technical Officer

This is the specialist who controls technology resources. Often called a CIO (Chief Information Officer), CTO is becoming a common term as today’s business needs go beyond computer networks to concerns such as cloud services, automation, and 3D printing. The CTO advises on new technologies while maintaining current systems at optimal efficiency. Today’s businesses rely heavily on having the latest technologies to remain competitive.

Business owners and CEOs should take an active interest in hiring or promoting to fill top management positions. The easiest road to success is assembling an executive team with the best knowledge and skills you can find. These experts will manage the areas of operation that are crucial to maximizing performance and laying the groundwork for business expansion.
