Words of Wisdom for Women Entrepreneurs from Jessi Park’s Book on Shifting Your Mindset

Jessi Park, President of Inspired Insurance Solutions, is currently riding the success of her new book about how mindset truly is one of the crucial keys for the female entrepreneur’s success. Women in business can change their lives by changing their mindset when it comes to their habits, money, and career.

The book, Soul Beneficiary: The Good, Better, Best Guide to Success in Selling Insurance, promises to guide women to shift their mindsets for successful entrepreneurial lives. Although it is primarily focused on selling insurance, this book encompasses knowledge that any business owner can use to better their career.

Read on to discover some nuggets of wisdom from her upcoming book to learn how you can start changing your mindset to change your life.

Your Work is Your Life

If you are an entrepreneur, you might be tempted to think that your work stops when your self-invented ‘office hours’ stop. You are your own boss right? Why shouldn’t you kick back on the couch with a glass of wine after a long day of inventing systems and processes to make your dreams a reality?

Wrong.

The opposite is true. While your employees can clock out after a long day of work, your work is just beginning. The life of an entrepreneur is the LIFE of an entrepreneur. It is a lifestyle, at least for the first few years while you get your business off the ground.

“If you can identify the flaws in your current way of thinking and take action to correct them, you will be light years ahead of the majority of other new agents,” Park states.

Ask yourself what worked that day and what didn’t. Work on things you couldn’t get to because you were busy managing your talented staff. Answer emails. Plan your next day, plan your next week. Give yourself structured ‘me time’ with the aim to work a little harder than the other gals in your niche. That will set you apart.

Acknowledge Your Limits

“The first step to shifting your mindset is acknowledging that you have limiting beliefs and  listing exactly what they are. A limiting belief is a  particular ‘truth’ or conviction that you believe to  be true and thus limits you in some way,” her book explains.

Park recommends writing down your limiting beliefs. Being honest with yourself about what you think about yourself and the world around you will set the tone for where you need to guide your mindset shift.

What Happens Next

Park’s book goes into detail about examples of limiting beliefs, but we don’t want to give too much away. The next step is to take your limiting beliefs and flip each one on its head.

If you think you are bad at something, reword it and say you are good at it. If you think you look a certain way that you don’t like, appreciate the good parts about how you look.

Repeating these new mindsets every single day, whether out loud to yourself or by writing them down, will have a gravitational pull that steers you towards them becoming true.

A Note On This Approach

“Your growth mindset should also be holistic,” writes Park. “ It can’t be just about your profession; it has to be  everything about you. First, you need to address all  limiting beliefs and bad habits in all areas of your life, especially when it comes to your health. Taking care of yourself both mentally and physically is the key to longevity in this industry. Next, envision  where you want to be in the next few years. Again,  this needs to be a complete (and realistic) vision that  encompasses all aspects of your life, not just what you want to be making.”

Be sure to read Soul Beneficiary: The Good, Better, Best Guide to Success in Selling Insurance in full to learn how you can shift your mindset to become the leading woman in your industry.
