What Franchise Trade Shows Are Worth Attending?

If you’re considering buying a franchise, attending trade shows in franchising is an excellent way to help you determine if franchising is right for you, as well as introduce you to several potential brands to invest in.

Franchise trade shows are held throughout the year, all over the world. Here are a few we think are worth a visit.

Franchise Show

With major events happening in both the US and Canada, the Franchise Show is among the largest trade show events in the world. There’s an event just about every month here in the US, so you can choose a show that’s near you and fits in your schedule.

As an example, the show in New York/New Jersey takes place on February 11 and 12, 2017. The schedule includes presentations on topics such as:

  • How to choose and evaluate a franchise
  • Understanding government regulations
  • Marketing and sales
  • Legal considerations when buying a franchise

Additionally, the show will have business advisors available to answer your questions on every topic that pertains to franchising. And dozens of franchisors will be there to walk you through the perks of investing in their company. A few examples of exhibitors include Cinnabon, The UPS Store, and DigitalDoc.

International Franchise Expo

Another not-to-miss franchise trade show is the International Franchise Expo, to be held in New York City June 15-17, 2017. The educational programs provide useful insight on topics like multi-unit franchise growth, bringing a franchise brand to the US, and mastering franchising opportunities. Franchise exhibitors include American Express Open, BizBuySell, and Le Macaron French Pastries.

IFA 2017

If you’re a member of the International Franchise Association (or would like to be), this is the conference to be at. Every year, members gather to network and share ideas with one another at this event. This year, it will be held in Las Vegas on January 29-February 1. This year’s event will include more than 50 educational sessions, summits, and interactive roundtables, as well as presentations from leading franchise experts. Exhibitors this year include Balboa Capital, Constant Contact, and Yodle.

In addition to these larger trade shows, there are many more focused workshops and seminar events held at smaller venues. These tend to center around specific educational topics, such as legal concerns, marketing, or financing, and can be of great help as you choose and buy a franchise.

Build it into your budget to attend one or more franchise trade shows, both before you invest in one and as you grow yours.
