Why Are Children Education Franchises on the Rise? What Are Your Best Options?

If you’re looking to own your own business and seek to make a difference in the lives of children in your community, then you’re in luck. Over the last 20 years, education franchises have exploded from a handful of tutoring and lesson-giving franchises to dozens if not hundreds of different franchises that are changing the way kids learn outside the traditional classroom.

Parents’ willingness to spend money to make sure their kids’ learning is up to par or ahead of their peers is not the only reason for the current growth trend. According to the US Census Bureau, the number of families with two working parents is steadily increasing, leaving the parents little time to assist with homework or other learning experiences.

This trend is not limited to children of school age. No longer is child care considered babysitting. Most child care centers have transitioned to centers for early education where staff receive extensive training in instruction geared toward preschoolers.

In addition, while there has always been a need for tutoring in reading, math and SAT/ACT prep, many newer education franchises are focused on enrichment rather than remedial or practical help. Having their students do well in school is no longer enough for parents who know that the college and career world has become fiercely competitive no matter the field.

What makes a franchise focused on child education attractive to many is that a teaching background is usually not required. So, if you like kids, have a good business sense and wish to give back to your community, one of these franchises may be a great option for you.

Kiddie Academy

With 200 franchises and currently serving nearly 23,000 children in 27 states, Kiddie Academy is one of the leading nationally recognized franchisors of comprehensive educational child care programs. Their business model has been proven over and over.

Franchisees benefit from extensive training not just at opening but throughout the lifetime of the business. A Franchise Consultant is also assigned to each franchise to assist with site visits, additional training and sharing of best practices. With a comprehensive business model, guaranteed support, and flexible weekday schedule, Kiddie Academy is a great child education franchise choice.

Tutor Doctor

Tutor Doctor is revolutionizing the tutoring industry by utilizing a one-to-one tutoring approach for students from kindergarten to college in the comfort of their own homes. With over 500 locations around the world, Tutor Doctor has changed the lives of more than 270,000 people by helping them achieve their academic goals.

They have received numerous awards including being ranked No. 1 In-Home Tutoring Franchise by Entrepreneur, Top 50 Franchises for Minorities, and Child Magazine’s Parents Choice Award two years in a row. Franchisees benefit from initial training, ongoing support, marketing support and a proprietary internet-based software system designed specifically to allow franchisees to run their business from home.

The Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center has more than 20 years of experience in the industry with more than 100 franchise locations. They are focused on strengthening children’s academic abilities in reading, math and writing through their unique combination of One-to-One Instruction and Rotational Approach to Learning.

The Tutoring Center has received numerous accolades including from Franchise Business Review 2010-2017 Franchisee Satisfaction Awards, Top 200 Franchises “Best of the Best,” and Best of the Best Top Low-Cost Franchises. Over two decades of testing and refining provides franchisees with recognition and a proven system backed by support and guidance throughout the lifetime of the franchise.

Building Kidz School

Building Kidz School offers a comprehensive arts-integrated educational program focused on six key areas of development including emotional, social, cognitive, physical, communication, and academic. They provide customized learning experiences helping to establish commitment, character, and confidence in each child.

Building Kidz School has created a collaborative culture with their franchise owners where they will guide them through location acquisition, licensing, marketing, and operations. After Opening Day, the regional directors support franchisees to ensure quality control, operational efficiency, and effective marketing to maximize profits and minimize risk.

Mathnasium

Mathnasium, ranked #1 on the most recent Franchise Gator Top 100, is a neighborhood math-only learning center that teaches kids math in a way that makes sense to them. The brand has transformed the way children understand and appreciate math, whether they’re ahead of the curve, performing at grade level, or falling behind.

Mathnasium has become one of the fastest-growing educational franchises with more than 700 locations including 658 in the U.S with an average of two opening per week.
