Things to Help Get You Motivated

Now isn’t the time to retreat into your shell and ride out the year by flying under the radar. No sir! Instead, we propose six intriguing ways to stay motivated and finish this year off right!

Training yourself to become a goal-oriented person isn’t as hard as it looks. If your dream is to become your own boss through franchising, try a few of the techniques below and see if your calendar doesn’t tighten up with efficiency.

1. Create the framework

When you build a house, it doesn’t just get bolted together. Well, ok, some models do come this way. But most are “framed out” first. You can do this with your goals by creating a visual depiction of where it is you want to be in 2019. Draw a box at the top of the page and title it “Now.” Then draw a box at the bottom of the page entitled, “Franchise Owner.” Now, frame out the middle with manageable tasks and goals. You’ll feel motivated when you realize you actually have a plan in the works.

2. Seek that advice

You’ve been meaning to talk to that one person in your social circle who does run his or her business. I bet you have more than a few questions you’d like to ask. Now is the time to take some action. Contact them and let them know you’d like to treat them to a holiday coffee session. Bring a notebook with you to jot down the intriguing answers that await you.

3. Stay consistent

Whatever your activity is in life, keep consistent. If you like to jog, stay on track. If you like to journal, keep writing. The point is to bring the structure in your life to a consistent activity. Trust us when we say this, you’ll experience a lot of consistency with a franchised business.

4. Make it fun with rewards

Motivation shouldn’t be a slog. It’s the satisfaction of staying on task and the realization that you are, in fact, accomplishing much in the way of improving your life. So, when you do stick to the program, don’t be afraid to reward yourself now and then. When you accomplish something noteworthy, do something special for yourself.

5. Establish your support group

Franchising requires a support group. Whether that’s your immediate family or close friends and advisors, it’s more than just a suggestion. Don’t be afraid to share your vision with those both inside your circle and outside. Go to the ones whose validation means the most to you and explain your dream of becoming a business owner. Gather these individuals and ask for their support. Their affirmations will fuel your motivation even further.

6. Collect your thoughts

This sounds simple, but it’s a very effective exercise for staying motivated. Once a day, perhaps just before you fall asleep, review the progress that you’ve made. Replay the successes that are driving you towards an entrepreneurial destiny. It’s important to reflect on the progress you’re making. Revisit it often.
